Industrial Cleaning Services - Louisville, KY

EFS provided a client with the interior cleaning of five (5) dry storage vessels, discharge system components, and associated conveyance tubing.  EFS disassembled and reassembled the discharge components and conveyance piping as required to access vessel interiors and surface areas for brush down and material removal.

EFS utilized manual cleaning methods (scrapers and broom down) for removal of loose dust and caked materials from the interior surface area of two (2) large storage vessels 12L & 13L and three smaller storage vessel located inside the facility. This included disassembly of the material discharge components including rotary air locks (RAL), screw conveyors, related valves, filter, and piping.  Included in this project will be the manual cleaning of approximately 600 lineal feet (LF) of 6” dia. convey tubing, elbows, fitting and connections to existing components. This required disassembly of several couplings at connecting joints to access the interior of this system for cleaning. Due to the age and condition of the couplings they were replaced with new galvanized compression coupling with SS liner & gasket sealing material. The client provided the dust containers located under the storage vessels discharge and was responsible for transportation and disposal of dust and waste.

All site activities were conducted in a modified Level C PPE and included: lock-out/ tag-out of power systems, fall protection, permitted confined space entry and extraction, respirators, work gloves, Tyvek coveralls, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses, and hard hats.

The project was completed on time, under budget and in accordance with the site Health and Safety Plan.
