Former Dry Cleaning Building Demolition - Orlando, FL

 

EFS was contracted to perform demolition and removal activities at the former Naval Training Center (NTC) located in Orlando, Florida. The project was performed under NAVY Remedial Action Contract (RAC) N62467-03-D-0260. The former NTC property was undergoing cleanup activities in preparation for local reuse. EFS was retained to perform asbestos and lead remediation, demolition, removal, transportation, off-site disposal and site restoration activities at the site.

The scope of services provided by EFS included:

  • Submitting a site specific Health & Safety Plan, Quality Control Plan, Sampling and Analysis Plan, Waste Management Plan, Demolition Plan and Environmental Protection Plan.
  • Abatement, loading, transportation and off-site disposal of 3,000 square feet of asbestos-containing material (ACM), including ceiling tiles, pipe insulation and floor tiles.
  • Abatement, loading, transportation and off-site disposal of biohazards.
  • Utility deactivation and demolition.
  • Complete demolition, removal, transportation and off-site disposal of building including 1,180 tons of demolition debris; 2,680 tons of recyclable concrete; and 45 tons of lead-impacted debris.
  • Final site grading and restoration activities.
  • Post-construction submittals.

EFS provided HAZWOPER, asbestos and lead-trained personnel to perform the work at this site. EFS performed all of the work at the site in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), U.S. Navy, Orange County and City of Orlando regulations. This project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget within a two month period.
